These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Receipt Manager (“we”, “us”), based in New Zealand. They cover your use of Receipt Manager on the web at receiptmanager.appand in the Receipt Manager iOS app (together, “the service”).
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
Your licence to use the iOS app itself is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms cover the service the app connects to.
A scan is when the service reads a receipt for you: a photo, a PDF, or an email you forward to your Receipt Manager address. A scan is counted when it is read, whether or not you then save the receipt. If a scan produces nothing because of a fault on our side, it isn’t counted.
A new account made in the iPhone app includes 5free scans so you can try the service. Free scans are given once per iPhone: an account made on an iPhone that has already had them starts without free scans. After that, scanning needs a Receipt Manager Pro subscription. Viewing, editing and exporting your existing receipts don’t use scans.
We may give some people Pro access at no charge, for example early testers. That access lasts for the period we tell them.
You own the receipts, images and other content you add (“your content”). You give us permission to store, process, copy and display your content only as needed to provide the service to you and the household members you share it with. That includes sending images and text to the AI and other providers described in our Privacy Policy.
Only add content you have the right to use, and don’t add other people’s personal information unless you’re entitled to.
The service uses AI to read receipts, and it can make mistakes: a wrong total, date, merchant, line item, tax amount or warranty period. Check anything important. The service doesn’t give financial, tax, accounting or legal advice.
Tax authorities may require you to keep original records. In New Zealand, Inland Revenue generally requires business records to be kept for seven years. Check what applies to you, and keep originals where you need to.
Don’t:
A household lets members see the receipts each of them chooses to share. The household’s owner manages who’s in it. Only share receipts you’re happy for every member to see. When someone leaves or is removed, they stop seeing the household’s shared receipts, and their own receipts stay with them.
We’re improving the service all the time and may add, change or remove features. We may also pause the service for maintenance. If we ever stop offering the service, we’ll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your account is closed straight away and permanently deleted 30 days later. You can cancel the deletion within those 30 days. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that with Apple as well.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or to protect the service or other people. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded, including the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, and the Australian Consumer Law. If you use the service for the purposes of a business, the Consumer Guarantees Act doesn’t apply, to the extent the law allows.
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.
We back up the service regularly, but you’re responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you can’t afford to lose. Settings lets you export your receipts.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
